Better Health Quest: Julia's Story

BetterHealthGuy with dear friend JuliaLike most others, my story begins with years of being sick and seeing specialist after specialist. I was chasing so many things that were wrong with me that I did not know where to turn next. The one thing that I think is different in my own battle with Lyme Disease is how I have chosen to treat it. So my story begins!

After 8 years of being sick and not knowing what was wrong with along with 4 years on antibiotics for everything, I was given a blood test called an ELISA. Of course, the doctor said that I had post-Lyme and there was nothing he could do for me. So I began researching Lyme. I could not believe how everything began to make sense. The allergies, the heart problems, the joint pain, back pain, facial pain, vertigo, etc, etc. I had sinus surgery, wore a heart monitor, was in therapy for my back, was told I needed surgery on my back and was told I had MS. It went on and on.

How could so many doctors have missed this and never even checked me for Lyme? I found an LLMD who confirmed that I had Lyme with a positive Western Blot. At this time, my children were 3 and 5 years old. I did not know whether to be excited or afraid to start my IV antibiotics! Well, my world fell apart in a matter of 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with breast cancer within 2 weeks of my learning of my Lyme Disease. Today, I look back on this as a blessing to me. I have never touched another antibiotic.

The medical community treats you so differently when you have cancer as opposed to Lyme. I had two surgeries to remove the tumor so fast my head was spinning. The radiation and drugs that I was to start taking made me begin to question why I would put anything else into an already toxic body. I researched everything that I could. The drugs all had side effects which felt too much like my Lyme symptoms. I decided not to do traditional therapies for the cancer and work on building up my immune system and then work on the Lyme.

In my efforts to learn as much as I could about both Lyme and cancer, my teeth kept coming up as a question. Could my root canals really play such a role in both Lyme and cancer? Could mercury as well possibly be another avenue which may have enabled me to get sick? I learned pretty quickly that I needed to clean up my body before I could deal with the Lyme. My amalgams went first. Then I had the 2 root canal teeth pulled. I was chelated for heavy metals and mercury and had 4 cavitation surgeries. I also had my tonsils removed. I did all of this while trying to eat as much organic food as possible, drink only bottled water, etc.

The hardest part of all of this is that it is so overwhelming when you understand what needs to be done to regain health and balance to an over stressed body. I am still working on the Lyme but only with herbs. With each step I began to get a little better. Then I would take another step, and if it did not work, I just kept my focus on getting well. So I would try something else and get an improvement. I will never give up and finally believe that I will get completely well again. I have read that it takes an average of 5 years to get well from Lyme. We don't get sick overnight so we can't expect to get well overnight either!

Today, I am still working with the Lyme, but feeling better with the knowledge I have and with each new day. I laugh a lot, exercise daily, take care of my family, and can really play with my kids! That was something that I could not do for a long time. I also get regular colonics, use a hyperberic oxygen chamber and use a micro-current machine for Lyme. I also see a chiropractor. All on a regular basis! I am trying very hard not to have Lyme control my life but it is always there when you need to be constantly timing your protocols!

This process has taught me so much about myself. But most of all, I have met some wonderful, caring people. Complete strangers have done more for me than I would ever even hope for from a family member! My journey has made me realize that I need to help others as much as I can. This helps me in my own healing. Each day is different and each day is wonderful!!!!
