Below are some of the latest informational documents from Advanced Lab on their new Borrelia culture test. This test is a game changer in my opinion. If one gets a positive result, Borrelia is present. Their FAQ on the culture test can be found here.

I continue to spend time learning more about Dr. Shoemaker's work as I have not yet entirely addressed all of the biotoxin illness markers, especially C4a, and am interested in Dr. Shoemaker's work as I think he's a rare genius in the field.

Very recently, the first commercially available Borrelia culture test was made available by Advanced Laboratory Services. Dr. Joe Burrascano consulted with the lab to make this a reality. It will take some time to see how the test is received by conventional medicine, the political players in the Lyme arena, insurance companies, and others, but this could be a game-changer.
Many of the tests used today in Lyme disease, such as the Western Blot, are antibody tests. These require a functional immune system to have a positive test result. The Borrelia culture test is an antigen test looking for actual organisms. PCR testing is also an antigen test but has very low sensitivity and generally yields false negative results.

GcMAF (Gc protein macrophage activation factor) is an immune-regulating compound from Europe that may have benefit for those of us struggling with immune system health. It has been used in HIV and cancer for several years. More recently, doctors and researchers have been considering GcMAF for use in patients with illnesses that most of us will recognize.

For those of you interested in information on CCSVI, Dana Gorman recently held a Summit with a focus on CCSVI September 2-4, 2011. Attendees included Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, Dr. Lee Cowden, Dr. Joe Mercola, Dr. Garry Gordon, Dr. Jeff Wulfman, Clint Ober, Michael Payne, and many other healers.
I've blogged in the past on the impact of dental pathogens in the mouth and the impact of these microbes on our overall health. I cannot stress enough how important I feel it is to ensure that dental health is a priority.
In dealing with people with Lyme disease, there is already a total body burden of pathogens beyond that which our bodies can effectively manage. Reducing dental pathogen stress provides our immune system with significant additional energy that can be used to focus on systemic infections.
I've been asked what I personally do for dental health and thought I would share my program here.
1) I brush twice daily with an Oral-B toothbrush. I have used other similar brushes in the past, but prefer the Oral-B.
2) When brushing, I alternate one of three different products. All three are aimed at improving dental health. The first is Weleda Salt Toothpaste. The second is PerioPaste. The third is a blend of essential oils called OraMD that I use several drops on a toothbrush instead of toothpaste.
3) Putting the brush head in a UV-cleaner after each use is an important way to avoid recontaminating yourself with bacteria.
In 2008, my doctor suggested that my tonsils were an area of focal infection and that I should consider going to Germany to do regenerative cryotherapy. I planned a trip and schedule an appointment with Dr. Sergei Dorochov in Germany.
Around the same time, I had learned about the Bionic 880 and photon therapy and decided to pursue that option as well. Unfortunately, at the time, it was suggested by one of my doctors that doing both of these in a short period of time would not be wise. I cancelled the tonsil procedure and pursued the photon therapy.
Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt MD, PhD and the Klinghardt Academy hosted "A Deep Look Beyond Lyme" May 6-8, 2011 in Redmond, WA. As has always been the case, this event was simply superb and enlightening. Dr. Klinghardt was joined by speakers such as Dr. Simon Yu MD, Dr. Stephen Fry MD, Tami Duncan, and others. I learned a great deal from this exciting weekend and will attempt to share some portions of it with you here.
