- FDA still does not recognize the potential risk of cell phones causing cancer
- She is the co-founder of Physicians for Safe Technology.
- Wireless radiation is a toxicant.
- Toxic exposures may lead to cancer, reproductive failure, brain dysfunction, autoimmune disease, and developmental abnormalities.
- US has not done a good job at reducing environmental toxins in our environment as compared to other countries.
- Chemical toxins can lead to reactive oxygen species and oxidation; equivalent to rust.
- Oxidation is needed for health, but too much can lead to disease and aging.
- Radiofrequencies are a silent biologic and environmental toxicant.
- The damage to the body from wireless technology is cumulative.
- Impacts neurologic, reproductive, hematologic, immunologic, and are carcinogenic.
- 5G is millimeter waves the size of insects; and do harm insects.
- Wireless radiation leads to oxidative stress and free radicals which impact cells; antioxidants like A, C, E, and melatonin can mitigate these effects.
- Oxidative stress leads to inflammation which leads to human disease.
- Wireless radiation passes through the body; the longer the wavelength, the deeper they penetrate; 5G penetrates only the skin. 2G, 3G, 4G penetrate more deeply.
- Wireless radiation impacts anything with a water content.
- Can impact myelin, neurotransmitters, opens blood-brain barrier (leading to neuroinflammation)
- Two hours of exposure leads to weeks of opening of the blood-brain barrier.
- Cell towers near students were shown to lead to cognitive decline.
- Electrohypersensitivity (EHS) occurs in some with exposure to EMFs; it is not a psychiatric condition.
- Symptoms can impact skin, neurologic, cardiovascular.
- Headaches, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitations, irritability, poor concentration, insomnia may be present.
- Firefighters experienced EHS when cell towers were put on fire stations; later removed from fire stations in California.
- 5-30% have mild EHS, 1.5-5% have moderate EHS, 0.65% have restricted access to work
- Internet addiction is increasing and has been shown to impair white matter and shrink gray matter.

- Turn off Wi-Fi at night.
- Keep landline.
- Remove smart meters.
Ronald L Melnick, PhD spoke on "Carcinogenicity of cell phone radiation demonstrated in studies by the National Toxicology Program" and shared:
- Important to understand the exposure and risk of local effects of where a device is held and not the effect of the exposure across the entire body.
- Carcinogenicity studies have been done in rats and mice.

Questions
- Cindy Russell, MD shared that studies demonstrate hearing loss associated with cell phone use. Blue light from digital screens lead to oxidative retinal damage. Blue light impacts melatonin levels, circadian rhythms, and sleep. Radiofrequency has direct effects on the eye as well; both thermal and non-thermal effects. 5G is a particular problem as there will be increasing levels of all non-5G wavelengths as well.

- It is unknown whether or not toxins such as nitrites/nitrates cause brain tumors
- Immunosuppression is unknown in terms of contribution to brain cancer; but starting to change to the understanding that there is a role
- Does immune suppression allow brain cancer? Does brain cancer suppress the immune system?
- Whether or not non-ionizing radiation causes brain tumors is unknown; having reviewed the literature, he has come to an opinion
- The lack of understanding of how magnetic field exposure is involved is the reason that the potential causal effect is not accepted
- Critical mass is now of the understanding that we better listen and better learn.

- Healing the gut is the goal; hidden food allergies need to be treated; often related to mold or metal exposures.
- High mold and metals = high yeast.
- Provocation/neutralization used at their clinic.
- Serum IgG for molds, mycotoxins, and chemicals; can have false negatives
- SLIT or sublingual immunotherapy
- Von Ardenne Oxygen Therapy; when venous blood is high in oxygen, there is inflammation in vessels; giving oxygen for 2 hours a day leads to a switch effect that opens microcirculation.
- Treat coinfections: EBV, HSV, HHV, Parvo, Coxsackie, Lyme, Strep, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Candida, Proteus/Klebsiella, Hepatitis, parasites, H. Pylori
- If IgG is 4x reference range, these may need to be treated.
- Treating infections aggressively can lead to more sensitivities; have to go slow and low.
- LDI has been very beneficial in these patients.
- Ozone has been helpful for infections and decreasing inflammation.
- Autovaccines of stool, urine, tongue scrapings, sinuses; grow in culture and sterilize and make an antigen.
- Do not chelate when amalgams are still present.

- Patients are sympathetic dominant.
Questions
- Dr. McCarter talked about using their autovaccines and LDI for Lyme-related issues. Many with prior antibiotic therapies have other issues such as GI issues months or years later. Ozone and oxidative therapies can be very helpful. They start with nose, ear, rectal insufflation and later move to IV ozone.
- Dr. Lercher noted that in the pandemic lockdowns, it is more difficult to escape from EMF exposures when people are locked indoors.
- There was some question about grounding sheets and contaminated ground currents. Dr. Bray mentioned she has had more negative reports than positive, and she prefers lakes, grass, and actual earthing. Dr. Baldwin's wife has EHS; he investigated these products and found them to be potentially more harmful than helpful; urban environments have grounds into a dirty grid; he recommends against it unless in a rural environment.
- Solvent profiles are available through Great Plains. Dr. McCarter noted that additional fats such as with Keto diets can make people worse if they already have an overloaded liver.
- Dr. McCarter shared that there are many toxins in breast implants including metals; goes beyond silicone. BreastImplantIllness.com; saline implants still are a source of exposures. Implants may increase risk of lymphoma.
- Dr. Bray mentioned that cannabis products can be helpful for pain, sleep, and anxiety; 50% of her patients are using cannabis oil.
- Dr. McCarter suggested the ERMI/HERTSMI-2 from EnviroBiomics; EMMA testing can be helpful for mycotoxin testing.
- Many EHS patients have MCS, Fibromyalgia, and immune dysregulation.

- Has consulted with 500 EHS people and communicated with thousands
- EMFAnalysis.com, TEDx Talk "Wireless Wake-Up Call"; book "How to Find a Healthy Home"
- Primary reasons for EHS: severe EMF exposure, chronic illness (Lyme, autoimmunity) made worse by EMFs, MCS with toxic exposure (including mold), poor detoxifiers, reactive limbic system/OCD/anxiety (10-20%).
- EHS patients have to develop a new world view where wireless technology is no longer safe.
- Validating the condition is important to healing.
- Engineering Approach to EMFs: measure/eliminate/reduce/shield/measure, distance is key, accurately measure the for types of EMF
- Low Frequency Magnetic and Electric Fields (power lines, electrical wiring, appliances)
- EMI/Power Quality (dirty electricity, solar, dimmers, CF lightbulbs)
- Radio Frequency (wireless, including 5G)
- Microwave Radiation
- Most homes have 5-20 sources of EMF that need to be eliminated.
- 5G is bringing the EMF topic into society's awareness; it is important not to focus on one type when mitigating EMFs.
- Meters: Safe and Sound Pro (below 1 microwatt/m2 is ideal), Alpha Lab for magnetic fields (< .1 milligauss), GigaHertz Solutions 3851A for electric fields (< 1v/m is ideal), RadioShack AM radio for EMI, line EMI meter
- Electric fields impact sleep the most; best to turn off circuit breakers
- There are no personal protection products that he recommends. He has tested many of them and they have not been helpful.
- 8 Steps: Live in a low-EMF home, have low-EMF sleeping area, minimize wireless technology, create a low-EMF computing setup/office, detox and exercise, nutrition and supplements, low-stress (meditation, supportive relationships, positive outlook, limbic retraining), help communities understand this important issue

- President of Safe Living Technologies in Canada; started in 2006
- Fields are invisible, but they are very real.
- Most EHS feel better below 10 microwatts/m2; some need to be below 1.
- We are electromagnetic beings.
- Non-ionizing radiation does have biological effects.
- Anything that has power as well as our devices are sources of EMR.
- AC power lines, AC magnetic fields when devices are being used, dirty electricity or noise from electrical power
- Radiofrequency: wireless devices, transmitters, cellular networks, cordless phones
- 5G: not the same as 5G signal from Wi-Fi router, higher bands to not easily penetrate buildings, will take a decade to fully install 5G, higher bands are limited to highly populated areas like stadiums and arenas, current shielding products are effective where 99.99% of the signals are, high band does not easily penetrate buildings, increase the amount of time you unplug.
- Measuring equipment:
- Safe and Sound meters are meters that they create
- Meters are 5G ready for low and mid bands.

- Determine exposure levels and then eliminate sources where possible or reduce exposure and shield.
- Shielding is not natural but may be necessary.
- Always verify with measurements after mitigation strategies.
- RF protection - complete enclosure is usually best option; bed canopies and curtains; Swiss Shield; shielding paints can be used; foils and films can be helpful.
- Hard to make a meter more sensitive than the human body.
- Ideally practitioners should have a loaner kit to provide to their patients with Safe and Sound Pro II and Gigahertz ME3830B Electric and Magnetic Field meter.
- In Winter 2021, they will offer a wearable Safe and Sound meter with an alarm when you are in a high exposure area with configurable threshold.
Erica Mallery-Blythe, BSBM spoke on "Prevention, Diagnosis, and Management of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS)" and shared:
- PHIREmedical.org
- RF damages the body at very low intensity, non-thermal exposures.
- Most safety regulations protect against thermal exposures only.
- Biological disruption is not linear to intensity or frequency.
- EHS is a multisystem condition characterized by increased sensitivity to electromagnetic fields of increasingly broader frequency ranges and lower intensities.
- Symptoms: insomnia, headache, pressure in the head, sharp pains in head, electric shock, dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus, visual/hearing disturbance, short term memory loss, anomia, tremor, vibration, seizure, synesthesia, heart palpitations, BP issues/POTS, musculoskeletal pain, joint dysfunction, thirst/dehydration, urinary/bowel urgency, altered energy levels, chemical sensitivity, sensory upregulation.
- Trigger could be a chemical exposure or EMF exposure.
- Symptoms are often relinquished in the reverse order of how they were acquired.
- History pitfalls: multisystemic nature, weak field triggers, interaction with devices, unusual relieving factors, white noise obfuscation, unmasking in low toxicity environments, emotional exacerbation, psychiatric manifestations, unusual beliefs, paranoia.
- Staging
- Stage 1 - mild symptoms, no lifestyle change

Peter Sierck, CIEC, REA, EMRS, RFSO presented "Workshop: How to Test for Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) and Radiofrequency Radiation (RFR)" and shared:
- Evaluate: AC magnetic, AC electric, Radiofrequency, Dirty Power
- Magnetic is dependent on current flow through wiring.
- Electric field is dependent on voltage being present.
- Water in pipes is like AC magnetic when the water is running.
- Water in the pipes when the faucet is off and water not running is electric.
- RF has no pipe, no faucet; energy transmitted throughout the air.
- Dirty power is other frequencies riding on the power and creating distortion in flow of water.
- Lighting is important to consider as well given compact fluorescent and LED lights.
- For instruments, explore: sensor, frequency range, single or multiple parameters, and detector type.
- RMS detector often used; gives lower levels than peak detector.
- Magnetic fields can only be measured when they come into the center of the coil; are directional; some meters are single, some are tripe direction; want 3 axis meter.
- Different instruments use different units of measure; WaveControl EMF Calculator used to convert.
- Frequency range should be listed on each meter.
- Electric clock may have a motor and transformer; high fields but drop off quickly with distance.
- Electric fields from unshielded electric wiring; humans contain a lot of water so touching the meter can affect the result as the field is going through the body and not a real representation of the field.
- Radiofrequency testing first considers background levels outside to compare to. Devices need to be set to RF mode; when you conduct measurements, need to turn off your own cell phone.
- Need to understand that a cell phone on the body is a significant source of RF exposure; a shielded bag can reduces exposure notably.
- Dirty power or dirty electricity does not have a simple evaluation criteria; can use Stetzer and GreenWave meters. You can then plugin filters and measure the change.
- How does dirty electricity impact the human when the measurement is done on the wire? Have to consider better ways to measure dirty electricity in the air.
- In a bedroom, he does a 9 point evaluation for AC electric and AC magnetic fields.
- In legal cases, recalibrating instruments may be important. In reality, devices are generally not recalibrated.
- Dimmer switches: low/medium/high don't produce dirty electricity but variable speed does; turning off power to the circuit will turn it off. Turning off the light will still have an electric field but no dirty electricity.
- Some phones are still transmitting even when on airplane mode; have to look at the various antennas.
- Dr. Havas mentioned that people with metal implants do feel ground currents heating their implants.
- Targets: refer to European guidelines which breakdown by day, night, sensitive individuals.
- Magnetic field - .1 to .5
- Electric field - 5-20 are common readings at head of bed; try to reduce to below 1 volt/meter.
- Shielding and cutoff devices are helpful strategies.
- ENV RD-10 has electric, magnetic, and RF; has to be charged via a USB cable; does not give numbers, only ranges
- Older Tri-Field meter is very popular; over-estimates 60 Hz magnetic field levels. Latest Tri-Field he likes a lot (give proper 60 Hz reading); can do electric, magnetic, and RF.
- GQ EMF-390 has too many buttons and too many options; shows magnetic, electric, and RF at one time.
- Extech shows magnetic, electric, and RF at one time.
- LIUMY LM7001 measures electric and magnetic fields at same time.
- Devices have advantages and disadvantages, different placement settings; need to find the one that you like.
- Measuring the same things with several devices will often result in different readings; each is designed differently with different sensors.
- Shielding - paint, copper mesh, aluminum foils; aluminum foils are vapor barriers and reflectors; can lead to condensation and mold problems. He likes a breathable shielding material made with copper-wire mesh.
- Dr. Havas mentioned that people are exposed to dirty electricity; it does not stay near the wires.
- Shielding 5G - the more solid the material, the better the shielding; Y-Shield paint works, copper mesh works. It is much easier to shield 5G than existing waves.
