In late January 2012, BioResource held a superb conference with Byron White, Dr. Ann Corson, and Dr. Wayne Anderson. The event was "Integrating the Byron White Formulas with Antibiotics, German Biological Medicine, and Detoxification Remedies for Tick-borne Disease Treatment". It was excellent!

It gives me much hope to know that people are becoming more aware about Lyme disease and the complexities of treating it through these kinds of events. Knowledge is power, and the more people that can share their knowledge the better. Thanks to all of these great speakers for sharing their knowledge on this exciting weekend.

Byron White

  • Environmental toxicity has become exponentially worse over the years; exposure levels have gone up tremendously. In their testing, they have found rocket fuel in water; solvents in air; lead, mercury, and many other contaminants are now part of the load that the body has to handle.
  • By using therapies that work with the energetics of the body, symptoms may be almost immediately reduced in many cases. They Byron White Formulas (BWFs) work on an energetic level in addition to a physical level.
  • When treating, you generally work with the acute and later down to the degenerative. Things on deeper levels will unwind and come up in the body when you work with the more acute issues. You should not go after the blockages on the bottom, without treating the emerging layers first.
  • The more ill a person is and out of balance a person is physically and energetically, the more sensitive to EMFs they may be.
  • 1:4 or 1:5 herbal formulations are common in the industry. This means that for every part herb, you get 4 to 5 parts of alcohol. BWFs are made in a 1:1 ratio.
  • Commercial herbals are often made in steel drums or nalgene-type containers. They have found resonance of nickel and xenobiotics in products produced in this way.
  • BWFs have a very high vibration that support and helps balance the emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies.
  • The energetics of the formulas are designed to address the disease matrix pattern of a given stressor. They support the self-governing, natural healing mechanisms of the body. BWFs help balance the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems. They address factors such as dry, wet, heat, wind constriction, dampness, stagnation, and cold imbalances. They help the body unwind blockages.
  • All of the formulas increase Chi to promote the healing process. If you don’t have enough energy or cell vitality, you cannot pull off the treatment.
  • If there are blockages in the meridians, this may have a connection to stem cells ability to heal the body as stem cells have been shown to travel along meridians.
  • In their testing, they put a slide of Borrelia on healthy people, and their central channel blew out, showing that the mere presence of the pathogen energetically affected the body energetic channels.
  • Energies of organ systems are at a higher vibrational level; pathogens at lower levels.
  • Some of us have become like the tomato plant in the tomato patch, that is weakened, the bugs will have a tendency to go towards it and leave the healthy ones alone. Changing the energetics from sickness to a healthier tone has been shown to reduce this.
  • There was an experiment where they had bugs on white sheets with several people sitting on the sheet and the bugs went to people that were the sickest.
  • Metals have lower vibratory rates.
  • Pathogen/blockage reflexive matrix – they look at what is thrown out in the body, emotions and spiritual and the energetics of the body by a pathogen and how to bring the body back into balance.
  • As people use the BWFs, their energetics change and become more life affirmative which changes how other people interact with them as well.
  • Garlic, Coptis, Gardenia, Usnea have the ability to breakdown cysts.
  • A-BAB may help with organisms similar to Babesia-WA-1, CA-1, several other forms of Babesia and malaria.
  • A-FNG may help with organisms similar to fungus, mold, and Candida.
  • All formulas support the body in regards to the biofilm matrix, hypercoagulation, detoxification, and binding.
  • When doing energetic testing for the use of the formulas on a client, a low reading often means there is another blockage that must be addressed first and then the formula may test strongly.
  • One should have a good detoxification program in place before using BWFs. One should also deal with inflammation early as well.
  • When traveling with BWFs, it is best to avoid X-raying the formulas, but one can protect them somewhat by wrapping them in foil with the shiny side out.
  • BWFs should be taken 40 minutes apart from other BWFs and binders should be at least 90 minutes away from use of BWFs. Other supplements should be taken at least an hour away.
  • Put the BWFs in water and hold in mouth for at least a minute before swallowing.

Ann Corson MD

Ann Corson is one of my heroes in the Lyme community. She is a superb practitioner in the arena of tick-borne illness, and if I lived back east, she would be my doctor of choice. Here are the PDF files of her lectures shared here with permission.

  • Children with gestational infections often have difficult miasms to address. Dr. Jones taught Dr. Corson that we should refer to it as gestational Lyme and not congenital Lyme.
  • Protomyxzoa rheumatica is a huge player in her patient population. It is not yet know if it is found in ticks, but it has been found in mosquitoes by Dr. Fry in Arizona.
  • Nematodes and other parasites in ticks have to be considered as potential co-factors in Lyme.
  • PANDAS in kids often turns out to be Bartonella plus Lyme with the Strep riding along like a co-infection.
  • KPU can be acquired from years of infection or can be genetic. Genetic KPU often has a more severe presentation of symptoms such as bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia.
  • We must deal with structural problems to maximize treatment.
  • If one has wireless internet, it should be turned off at night.
  • People that believe in a higher power and the Divine do better.
  • Babesia, Bartonella, and other infections, presumably Protomyxzoa rheumatic, damage the endothelium.
  • Lyme patients have filthy gallbladders.
  • Have to start with treatment in the gut by restoring the GALT then moving to the liver and gallbladder and then addressing the functioning of the MALT.
  • One must deal with a dysbiotic gut and supporting liver function while starting treatments such as folinic acid for methylation.
  • From a German Homotoxicology model, Lyme patients generally start in the “impregnation” phase which is an advanced stage of illness.
  • Dr. Corson covered a number of remedies from Pekana, Syntrion, and others and how they might be used in treatment. That discussion goes beyond the scope of what can be shared here in detail and should be discussed with your holistic doctor.
  • Dr. Corson indicated that the Pekana and Syntrion products are “magical medicines”. She went on to say that she could not imagine her practice without them.
  • MUNDIPUR is a Pekana product that may be helpful for detoxifying the matrix. UPLEVA is for pelvic congestion and this is not uncommon. It is partially the result of a lack of walking in our modern society. OPSONAT may be helpful for GI biofilms. MUCAN may be helpful for people dealing with mycotoxins and indoor molds.
  • Nestmann Cholenest is an important product for all of her patients on Rocephin in an attempt to lessen gallbladder complications. She uses this along with Ursodiol.
  • Dr. Corson stressed the importance of not missing the metals.
  • She uses the ELISA/ACT test for food sensitivity testing as it uses lymphocyte stimulation to identify potentially stressful foods rather than making assumptions based on IgG blood testing which may represent immune memory.
  • The DetoxiGenomics panel from Genovations can be helpful in understanding the genetic predispositions one has to sub-optimal detoxification. She also uses a urine dip stick to test for sulfates. When sulfates are an issue, NutraMedix Sparga and Somaplex Manganese can be a helpful option for addressing this.
  • Dr. Corson mentioned a lecture series by David Berg and Dr. Steve Fry from April 2011 outside Washington DC that is available from Researched Nutritionals and contains very useful information on hypercoagulation and biofilms.
  • In order to minimize Herxheimer reactions, drainage remedies, beneficial fats such as phosphatidylcholine, and enzymes can be very helpful. B vitamins or magnesium can also be important.
  • Dealing with chronic infections is like a battlefield. You have to kill the enemy. Then you have to cut up the pieces of the bodies to take them away. Once complete, you have to make the meadow green and restore the environment such that the wildflowers can grow again.
  • Dr. Corson likes RX antiparasitic medications and finds that these often need to be pulsed over long periods of time.
  • Some NutraMedix products cannot be used together at the same time. For example, Samento and Banderol should not be put into the same glass. There is a compatibility chart from NutraMedix that identifies which products can be mixed vs. those that must be separated.
  • Dr. Corson has found Beyond Balance MC-BAB-1 to be helpful for Babesia microti while MC-BAB-2 seems to work better for Babesia duncani and FL1953 / Protomyxzoa rheumatica.
  • Dr. Corson uses BWFs in dosages that range from ¼ drop every 10 days to 20 drops twice a day. The longest that she uses a single BWF is 4 to 6 months.
  • If a patient has an acute infection, she may hold on the BWFs (or any other antimicrobial) until the acute infection resolves and then continue with the BWF treatment.
  • In her practice, 83 of 190 patients improved on BWFs and 22 of 190 significantly improved. Thus 105 of 190 patients improved on the formulas.
  • Dr. Corson uses Morinda Supreme from Supreme Nutrition for many infections and Melia Supreme for Mycoplasma and viruses. She uses Golden Thread Supreme as part of the treatment for FL1953 / Protomyxzoa rheumatica. She has also sees benefit in using Cryptolepis with FL1953.
  • Thorne Isatis Root is a very broad spectrum antimicrobial.
  • For Herxheimer management, she uses Pekana RENELIX, Pekana ITIRES, Energetix Drainage Tone, Energetix Lymph-Tone 1-3, as well as Gallbladder and Liver Tone. Burbur (liver), Parsley (kidney), Pinella, and Sparga (NutraMedix) can be helpful to minimize the effects of a Herxheimer and support the body during treatment.
  • She finds that Pekana apo-HEPAT is at times not well tolerated in Lyme patients as it may be too provoking.
  • For an acute trauma, Pekana Inflamyar, Syntrion SyCircue, and Marcozymes can be helpful.
  • Betaine may be used in some patients which becomes TMG and may help support methylation.
  • Best treatment to date for FL1953 includes: an anti-parasitic, usually Alinia or Artemisinin with Beyond Balance MC-BAB-2, Golden Thread Supreme with multiple enzymes such as Boluoke, Nattokinase, Serrapeptase, Interfase, Interfase Plus, Plant Enzyme Digestive Formula and others along with fats are often needed such as Omega-3s, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylserine, Crayhon DHA Supreme, and others. Omega-3s may be needed for a couple of years.
  • Thorne Trace Minerals flow like water in her office. Klaire LDA Trace Minerals is another good option. Citrimins is often rotated in patients on zinc as it also contains copper to balance the zinc.
  • Diet should be alkaline. Lemon in water can be helpful. Macro Pharma Nema Base or Ormed’s Alkabase may be helpful options to shift the pH to a more alkaline state.
  • You cannot address just metals or just microbes. You have to do both.
  • People are difficult to treat when they have amalgams in their mouth. It becomes really difficult.
  • For metals, EDTA suppositories, DMSA, Chlorella, MicroSilica, and Thorne Heavy Metal Support may be helpful. Trace minerals are a MUST to support the detoxification of heavy metals. You have to add back trace minerals with any metal detoxification program.
  • Binders for Borrelia toxins, mold toxins, and other biotoxins include Cholestyramine, MicroChitosan, MicroSilica, Byron White Detox 2, Supreme Nutrition Takesumi Supreme, algae, and clay bile binders.
  • You have to bind bile and get the toxins excreted while also ensuring enough Taurine and chologagues are being used to create new bile.
  • No cilantro is used until amalgams have been removed.
  • With coffee enemas, take chlorella or other binders beforehand and after with ample drainage so that you don’t reabsorb any of the toxins.
  • For food allergies, Syntrion SyAllgen and SyGest may be helpful.
  • For the HPAT axis, Pekana SUPREN or apo-STRUM (thyroid) may be helpful. Supreme Nutrition Endo Supreme supports endocrine function.
  • To reduce toxic estrogens, DIM can be very useful.
  • In those with KPU, L-Methionine, lithium, and others may be deficient in addition to zinc, B6, omega-6 and other substances.
  • For mold toxins, considers cholestyramine, Byron White Detox 2, MicroChitosan, and MicroSilica.
  • When one has a scalloped tongue, this may be thyroid-related or a sign of hypercoagulation. When feet hurt and the discomfort worsens and goes up the leg over the course of the day, this is often hypercoagulation.
  • When tissues are hypoxic (oxygen deprived), this can result in increased pain.
  • Metals, mold toxins, and infections keep hypercoagulation going.
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) consumption leads to inflammation.
  • Many factory meats are fed corn which is high in Omega-6. Omega-6 can promote inflammation and consuming these meats raised on corn can increase systemic inflammation.
  • Without dietary modification, most treatment will be ineffective.
  • FlexNow is a product from shea butter that may reduce inflammatory cytokines. Previously known as BSP-201.
  • In some cases, it has been observed that low levels of Babesia duncani antibodies with a negative FISH could be an indicator for Protomyxzoa rheumatica.
  • FL1953 (Protomyxzoa rheumatic) can be found in red blood cells on a smear done by Fry Labs. May appear as hypochromic red blood cells.
  • Symptoms of FL1953 are similar to Babesia. Symptoms include cold hands and feet, headache behind the eyes, scalp sores, sinus congestion, notable teeth pain, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, dry cough, abdominal pain, nausea, IBS, insomnia, sweats, bladder pain, muscle pain, twitching, profound fatigue, exercise intolerance, insomnia, brain fog, poor balance, anxiety, OCD, irritability, hypercoagulation. Off and on hoarseness can be a symptom of FL1953.
  • Possible treatment options for FL1953 include Alinia, Artemisinin, Albenza, Ivermectin, Beyond Balance MC-BAB-2, Byron White A-BAB, Cryptolepis, Byron White A-BART, Supreme Nutrition Golden Thread Supreme, macrolide antibiotics. ALWAYS uses enzymes, enzymes, enzymes and usually restorative fats, while reducing dietary fats. DRAINAGE, DRAINAGE, DRAINAGE!
  • May use Allergy Research or Doctor’s Best Artemisinin. May used a pulsed anti-parasitic (Alinia, Artemisinin, Albenza, Ivermectin) combined with an herbal remedy. Very commonly Golden Thread Supreme.
  • Enzymes are also used with the anti-parasitic and herbal treatment. Designs for Health Plant Enzyme Digestive Formula seems to be the best. Serrapeptase, Interfase, Boluoke, and others can be helpful. The enzymes are best taken on an empty stomach with drainage remedies.
  • Out of 103 patients tested for FL1953 with PCR, 78 were positive.
  • FL1953 herxes can be massive body pain, headache, anxiety, paranoia, hallucination, irritability, twitching, fatigue, joint pain, tooth pain, congestion or sinus pressure, abdominal pain, bladder pain, and increased hypercoagulability.
  • NutraMedix killers are often dosed alone, but Houttuynia can be taken with RENELIX. ITIRES is best taken alone or with other Pekana products but does not mix well with non-Pekana products. Burbur and ITIRES don’t mix.
  • Energetix Core Scrofulara Blend can be a helpful treatment for spirochetes.
  • Honso H41 tea can be helpful for restoring Chi. It is the Japanese version of Central Chi Formula.
  • When you feel your hands and feet going to sleep at night, that may be a sign of hypercoagulation.
  • Omnicef/Ceftin with Zithromax is sometimes used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Snytrion products may be used during pregnancy. RENELIX and ITIRES are ok as well. Provoking items are not used during pregnancy.
  • For PANDAS, amoxicillin or penicillin or Zithromax may be used. In many cases of PANDAS, Bartonella is being missed. There is a tremendous amount of Bartonella in PANDAS kids. IVIG is like a band-aid and not getting at the root cause. It is a pooled blood product. We need to fix the underlying dysfunction.
  • For Morgellon’s, anti-fungals, anti-parasitics, and antibiotics are used. Beyond Balance MC-BAR-1 and Byron White Formulas may be helpful.
  • Prefers magnesium parenterally or topical magnesium citrate (not sulfate due to sulfates being a common problem in people with Lyme). These are often better than oral magnesium in people with FL1953.
  • Tics may be related to HME (Ehrlichia), Bartonella, Borrelia, or heavy metals. Seizures may be related to HME or Bartonella.

Dr, Wayne Anderson ND

  • 15% of Borrelia infections are very aggressive and need antibiotics immediately. 85% are slower growing and immune-suppressing but do not have the same severity of symptoms.
  • 40% of patients get a little antibiotic cleanup at the end. If you can work down the infections with BWFs, you may not need antibiotics.
  • Babesia usually is more brain-centric; Bartonella more pain-centric.
  • Without evidence of H. Pylori, gastritis is Bartonella until proven otherwise.
  • Imbalanced gut flora is a likely cause of autoimmunity. Always start treatment with the gut. Dr. Anderson indicated that if a patient is sick and has a good gut, he would be surprised as this is relatively uncommon.
  • Elevated creatinine can be a sign of heavy metals.
  • Lyme first suppresses white blood cells, then red blood cells, and eventually platelets if not addressed.
  • Average person with Lyme has a WBC not over 4.2. WBC can be low in people with KPU or Ehrlichia.
  • Viruses can cause CD57 to go down. Borrelia and viral issues such as XMRV may be factors. When both Lyme and XMRV are present, CD57 may be less than 10.
  • XMRV is an absolute phenomenon.
  • Mycoplasma doesn’t usually come up before treating Borrelia.
  • Viruses usually come up at the very end.
  • The ERMI test is a good test for evaluation mold issues.
  • Dr. Anderson often gives one of the BWFs to help gain insight as to what may be the dominant pathogen. There can be three responses to a challenge with an herb like BWFs: no reaction, an aggravation, or improvement. The difference between aggravation and improvement is often the ability to manage the die-off.
  • HLA testing is important and when HLA results show a weakness, this pushes treatment more towards detoxification and drainage. HLA DRB testing can provide insights as to the neurotoxins we may be vulnerable to and what neurotoxins may be impacting the health of the patient.
  • Humans have over 10 times more bacteria in them than human cells.
  • 90% of “us” is bacterial DNA and 10% of “us” is our own DNA.
  • The four aspects of treatment include 1) Immune modulation, 2) unburdening the body of the dominant pathogen, 3) waste removal (detox), and 4) rebuilding metabolism , hormone balancing, repairing physiology, and rejuvenating the terrain.
  • BWF A-FNG may help the body to dump fungal toxins in addition to being an effective treatment for fungal organisms. Helpful for mycotoxins.
  • In systemic fungal infections, fatigue is common. Other symptoms may include depression, sleep disturbances, anxiety, mood swings, neuropathy, and learning disabilities.
  • BWFs have high specificity for pathogens. They are immune modulators. They support the stressed organ systems and help cells to “dump the dead bug”. They also help the body to detoxify.
  • KPU and methylation are evaluated in support of cellular detoxification.
  • Work from the larger downstream organs to the cell. Gut to skin/spleen/lymph/mucous membranes to liver/gallbladder to kidney and extracellular fluid space to interference fields.
  • When in doubt on where to go with treatment, start with the gut. Pathogen load, biofilms, motility, binders and drainage, rebuilding the membrane, and reinoculation and replacement are considered.
  • Skin, mucous membranes, spleen, and lymph: consider pathogens, detox and drainage, detox baths, skin brushing, scars, neural therapy, and saunas.
  • Liver and gallbladder: consider pathogens, bile replacement, phase one and phase two support, detox and drainage, coffee enemas or castor oil packs, liver/gallbladder flushes.
  • Kidney and extracellular fluid space: consider multi-susceptible genotype, creatinine, heavy metal load, chemical exposures, detox and drainage, dehydration or overhydration.
  • Interference fields: consider dental, scars, EMF/geopathic, trauma, miasms.
  • Be guided by genetic predispositions such as HLA, KPU, and methylation.
  • Consider history of past exposures as well as current exposures such as chemical, fungal, and metal exposures.
  • Consider lifestyle such as diet, hydration, alkalinity/acidity, food allergies.
  • Consider hormone replacement needs.
  • “For disease to manifest, two prerequisite conditions must exist: First is the sustaining cause of the disease (inherent predisposition of the organism), the second is an exciting or triggering cause (stressor or stimulus).”
  • Predispositions may include: methylation genetics, KPU, HLA, gestational infections (such as Borrelia, Babesia, Bartonella, Mycoplasma, Ehrlichia), gut microbes, toxicity, structural problems, sleep, and emotional trauma.
  • Exciting or triggering causes may include: exposures (infections, bacteria, mold, virus, chemicals), tick bites, heavy metals, repeated mold exposures, physical trauma, emotional trauma, childhood abuse, hormone changes (puberty, pregnancy, lactation, menopause, andropause), co-morbidity (cancer, diabetes, heart disease), drug use, EMF, geopathic stress, dental issues and cavitations, and surgeries.
  • There are two basic tracks for treatment: treating multiple pathogens at the same time or treating infections as a layered process.
  • Whittling is one approach that allows the immune system to be the guide. When the immune system changes focus to a new dominant pathogen as evidenced by specific symptoms, the practitioner has to be responsive to this “reprioritizing” information that the immune system is providing.
  • There are three patterns that Dr. Anderson observes. The “clear” pattern represents a vital immune response on a healthy patient where the body expresses symptoms of the dominant pathogen. The “muddy” pattern represents the response of a less well-organized immune system and the response may be less well-defined; chemical or metal toxins may be a factor. The “mixed” pattern represents equally aggressive pathogens which result in a more dynamic pattern.
  • Dr. Anderson refers to BabLO (Babesia-like organisms) much like Dr. Burrascano coined the term BLO (Bartonella-like organisms).
  • When looking at common patterns of the various layers of pathogens emerging, the most common pattern starts with BabLO -> BLO -> Bb -> Mycoplasma -> Virus. Several other patterns can also present.
